Week 23 – What’s your purpose?

Purpose:
noun
1. the reason for which something exists or is done, made, used, etc.
2. an intended or desired result; end; aim; goal
3. determination; resoluteness
4. the subject in hand; the point at issue
5. practical result, effect, or advantage: to act to good purpose.

What’s your purpose?  downloadThat’s been a driving question throughout this course.  What is it that you want out of life?  When we began this course of study, I thought my purpose was to increase my income, improve my lifestyle, lose weight, have more.  Now, as we near the end, I realize that I was misguided, that I didn’t understand myself and what I need to do.  In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus taught us:  “Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.”  So, all of the things written in my original Definite Major Purpose were erroneous.

Recently, I was told that I’m a powerful woman.  I think I’ve always known that, but I’ve subjugated my power under apologies, under humility, under a facade because of the fear that it would offend.  No more.  the-meaning-of-life-is-to-find-your-gift-tthe-purpose-of-life-is-to-give-it-awayMy power is a gift from God, and I do Him no honor when I do not express or use that power.  Now I’ve been working to discover the direction I need to take, the things that I need to do to put this power to good use, to help myself and others to find the kingdom of God.

Jesus also told us that the kingdom of God is within us.Mark-Twain-Find-Your-Purpose-Inspirational-Picture-QuoteSo, if we’re to first seek the kingdom of God, AND it’s within us, what are we seeking?  Perhaps we’re to seek knowledge of ourselves.  In finding out who we are as His children, we find our purpose.  images (2)Fire up the purpose with emotion, with passion, and you make things happen!!  Emotion fuels us, drives us to fulfill our mission, our purpose.

What is my purpose?  I’m back at the beginning with this, trying to figure it out.  imagesThe answer is in my youth – what did I dream of when I was young, before I’d accepted so many lies about myself?  I used to dream of changing the world!  What exactly, then, is the power that is mine?  How will I figure this out?  Through study, through prayer, through silence.  I recommit myself to this journey of exploration and learning in order to find fulfillment.  images (1)

Week 22a – The Law of Attraction

What is the Law of Attraction?  The-Law-of-AttractionIt is defined thusly: “The law of attraction states that every positive or negative event that happened with you was attracted by you.”  How do you attract things into your experience?  By thinking about them.  This Law correlates to the Law of Growth.images  “Quite simply the law of growth states that for EVERY seed planted a harvest will be received. Or from a more scientific perspective for every cause there must be an equal effect.”  Or, more concisely, what you think about grows.  So your thoughts determine your experience.  You either attract or grow the things you think about.

What are you thinking about today? attraction Look at your surroundings and circumstances and you’ll get an idea.

One area on which I’m focusing my thought energies is my love for myself.  love yourselfJesus tells us to love our neighbor as ourself.  Well, you need to love yourself well first, don’t you, in order to love your neightbor?  So, my mentor has directed me to tell myself 10 times per day, looking at myself in the mirror, “I love you, Susan, just the way you are!”  I like the addition of the last phrase to what we’ve previously been directed to say by our teacher in this course.  I’ve also been directed to repeat to myself:  “I accept myself unconditionally, even though part of me doesn’t feel successful.”  law-of-attractionI’m being more conscious every day of what I allow in my thinking, in order to bring about in my experience the results that I desire.

One thing that I’ve successfully manifested is a millionaire with whom I can associate and work.  I look forward to continuing the manifestation of my dreams!!

Week 22 – Challenge your preconceptions

challenge2

God in all things

“Belief in truth begins with doubts of all truths in which one has previously believed.” – Friedrich Nietzsche

Several weeks ago, it was suggested that we watch the movie “I Am,” by Tom Shadyac. I Am My preconceptions, ideologies that I’ve assimilated, got in the way of my acceptance and understanding of the powerful message being shared in this documentary.  It tells us something that I’d been ruminating on  – that when we set aside our self-consciousness, our separation from others, when we come to love unconditionally, the world will be as it should be, as it was created to be. change your thoughts It took my willingness to set aside things I’d accepted to see what the message was.

Last week I referenced the story from the Bible in which Peter walked on the water.  peter waterYep, Jesus wasn’t the only one.  What preconception did Jesus, then Peter, set aside to enable them to walk on the water?  Well, the preconception that matter has different forms over which we have no control!  Physicists will tell you that matter is different forms of energy.  6f549f24d6e9c8a4cfc0a93351650682The Bible tells us that God gave man dominion over all the earth.  Have you claimed and asserted your dominion?  It IS yours, you know.  All the earth.  Every form of creation.  Jesus told us, “He that believeth on me, the works that I do will he do also.”

This week’s readings in the Master Key System are challenging.  Asserting our perfection to bring healing, to express perfection.  There are many preconceptions that add difficulty to this demand.  Are you willing to let them go?  Jesus says, “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in Heaven is perfect.”  What’s stopping you from following this command?  Did you look up the definition of perfect?  “Lacking nothing essential to the whole; complete of its nature or kind.”Snoopy_Theology

Your thoughts determine your experience.  If you’re not living in health, harmony, abundance, and perfection, maybe it’s time to change your paradigm.  What we think about grows.  What are you holding in your thought?
